Our Story
Rooted in Community. Fueled by Flavor.
Pure is more than just a restaurant — it's a place create connection, and experience a deep love for good food.
Our journey began in 2012 as Pure Pizza, a small shop inside Charlotte’s 7th Street Public Market with one big goal: to serve handcrafted, healthier pizza made with thoughtfully sourced ingredients. What started as a passion project has grown into a full dine-in experience in the heart of Plaza Midwood — still grounded in the same values and still powered by people who feel more like family.
Over the past decade, we've shared meals, memories, and milestones with our community. And now, with Pure, we're proud to keep that spirit alive — offering your favorite pizzas, vibrant flavors, and a welcoming space for all.
We’re so glad you're here. Let’s eat.
A Message From
Our Founder
Hey y’all, Juli here!
We wanted to take a moment to reintroduce ourselves to the Charlotte community. You may remember us as Pure Pizza inside the 7th Street Public Market or on Central Avenue. What began during the uncertainty of the early 2000s recession—born from a fear of losing my job—grew into something more meaningful than I ever imagined. It was a gift to start that journey surrounded by an incredible team at 7SPM. Thank you, Jeff (now raising a family with his beautiful wife), Austin (Izzy’s Pizza), Chris (King of Fire), Geno (Geno D’s), and Jose—who’s still with us today at Pure: A Pizza Café.
Between our two locations, we shared so many special moments with you—joys and sorrows, pizza-making classes, and countless conversations. The biweekly Farmer’s Market in The Barn, started by Pat Ferrell, became a neighborhood ritual—dogs, fresh veggies, coffee, and connection. That same space transformed into Big Love Yoga Barn, where people came to breathe, move, and dance together in community.
These memories still make me smile.
Now, post-COVID and five years later, we’ve found a new home in Upper Plaza-Midwood on The Plaza, right next to Tip Top Daily Market. We’re feeling both excited and a little nervous—but above all, we believe in the power of and need for community in today’s changing world. And we believe that food fosters community. Sharing a meal—breaking bread—is one of the oldest human traditions. It nourishes, grounds us, and reminds us to slow down and be present.
We’d be honored to welcome you to our new space. With a team that’s been together for 7 to 13 years, you’re sure to see some familiar faces. Thank you, Charlotte, for supporting us for the past 13 years—we can’t wait to share this next chapter with you.
From the Heart -
Juli & the entire Pure team.
